TIGERVILLE, N.C. - The North Greenville Lady Crusaders swept the
Lees-McRae College Lady Bobcats 4-1 and 9-0 in a nonconference
softball double-header Thursday afternoon.
In the first game, North Greenville pushed two runs across in
the fourth inning to take a 2-0 lead. The Lady Crusaders added two
insurance runs in the sixth inning to take a 4-0 lead, before
Nicole Baxter would score the lone Lees-McRae run with a solo
homerun to left-center in top of the seventh.
Baxter was 1-for-3 in the contest and Paula Fryar was 1-for-2
with a walk.
In game two, Lees-McRae's offense was outhit 12-2.
In the five-inning affair North Greenville would score runs in
the first, second and fifth to earn the 9-0 win.
Ashley Benfield and Anna Carter collected the only two hits for
the Lady Bobcats.
Lees-McRae will travel to Meredith College for their next game
on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
