WILSON, N.C. - The Lees-McRae College Bobcats men's basketball
team was defeated Thursday night by the Barton College Bulldogs,
90-57.
Five minutes into the game, Barton had a six-point lead, 15-6,
and five minutes later had the lead to 22-12. The lead hit 17,
37-20, with 5:29 to play in the half, and the Lady Bulldogs carried
the 17-point lead, 43-26, into the locker rooms.
Following the break, Barton's lead hit 25 points, 51-26, two
minutes into the half. At the 13-minute mark, Barton's lead was
29, 61-32, and didn't hit 30, 75-45, until the eight-minute mark in
the game. Barton took their largest of the game, 90-55, with 30
seconds to play, but Lees-McRae hit the final shot of the game to
get the final of 90-55.
Lees-McRae was 28 percent from the floor and 13 percent from
three compared to Barton's 50 percent field goal and three point
percentage.
Jeremy Helms, who scored 13 points, led the Bobcats. Daniel
Sepokas and Adam McFerran had ten points apiece.
Lees-McRae will play at Mount Olive for their next game Saturday
at 4 p.m.
