ST. AUGUSTINE, FLA. − Flagler College pitchers Kelly
Riddick and Brandy Luke combined to no-hit Lees-McRae College in
the first game and the Saints completed the sweep with a 4-1 in
game two in a non-conference doubleheader Monday afternoon at
Saints Field.
Flagler improved to 24-18 overall while Lees-McRae falls to
10-20.
In the opener, Riddick threw the first five innings, struck out
five and retired the last 10 batters she faced. She walked and hit
a batter as well. Luke closed the final two innings and walked one
and struck out three.
The Saints erupted for four runs in the third inning. Heather
hit a two-run single and Kaycee Lisa followed with an RBI single.
Katherine Cabrera (Hialeah, Fla./Miami Dade College) executed a
perfect squeeze bunt to plate the fourth Flagler run.
The Saints added single runs in the fifth and the sixth
innings.
Magen West took the loss for the Lady Bobcats. She tossed a
complete game and allowed 12 hits and six runs.
In the second game, Flagler scored four runs in the first inning
en route to a 4-1 win.
Hill hit an RBI double and Lisa followed with an RBI single. Two
batters later, Andy Hay drove home a run with a base hit.
Kristen Chapman tossed five innings and allowed four hits and
one run. Jana Owen picked up her first save of the season as she
closed the last two innings and fanned two.
Brittney Hatem singled three times while Hill singled twice, hit
a double and had one run batted in.
Bryce Campbell went the distance and surrendered 11 hits and
three earned runs.
Kasey Talley, Meagan Knowles, Jessica Travers and Veronica
Ollier all singled once for the Lady Bobcats. Ollier drove in the
lone run.
The Lady Bobcats stay on the road and play at Lynn Tuesday at 2
p.m.
