DUE WEST, S.C. --- Megan Epperson (St. John,
Ind.) recorded nine kills and Dana Oliver (Davie, Fla.) tallied a
match-high 16 digs to lead the Lees-McRae College women's
volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of Erskine College in Conference
Carolinas play on Wednesday night.
Lees-McRae (6-6, 4-0 CC) won the match by scores of 25-20,
25-18, and 25-12 to vault into the top spot in the conference
standings with a sterling 4-0 mark against league opponents. The
Lady Bobcats posted a .351 hitting percentage in the match,
including a .423 clip in the third and final set, while limiting
Erskine (8-5, 6-1 CC) to a 0.75 mark. A trio of Lady Bobcats hit
over .500, including Taylor Stice (Franklin, Tenn.), who posted
five kills and no errors on seven attempts for a .714 clip on the
attack.
Epperson led the way for the Lady Bobcats with nine kills, while
Taylor Clendenin (Statesville, N.C.) chipped in seven kills. Stice
and Whitney Justice (Connelly Springs, N.C.) each tallied five
kills in the match as Megan Mitchell (Minden, Nev.) posted 25
assists.
Lees-McRae returns to the court on Friday when the Lady Bobcats
host Limestone College to continue their conference schedule. The
match is slated for 6 p.m. in Williams Gymnasium.
