DUE WEST, S.C. --- The Lees-McRae College
women's volleyball team extended its winning streak to six matches
on Wednesday night, holding off Erskine College for a 3-1 victory
in Conference Carolinas play.
Lees-McRae (8-6, 4-0 CC) won the match by scores of 25-21,
25-18, 24-26, and 25-14 to stay atop the conference standings. The
Bobcats posted a .234 hitting percentage on the night, while
recording eight blocks and limiting Erskine (7-6, 2-1 CC) to a .034
clip on the attack.
Megan Epperson (St. John, Ind.) paced the Bobcats with 12 kills,
as Dana Oliver (Davie, Fla.) and Taylor Clendenin (Statesville,
N.C.) tallied nine kills each. Lauren Fox (Garland, Texas) added
eight kills and a match-high four blocks, as Megan Mitchell
(Minden, Nev.) and Sariah Suryadevara (Cincinnati, Ohio) posted
contest-bests of 34 assists and 25 digs, respectively. Suryadevara
also chipped in a match-high five service aces.
Reigning conference player of the week Sandra Campbell posted a
match-high 15 kills to pace Erskine, as Larz Chabra recorded a
double-double with 26 assists and 12 digs. Brooke Dodge and Liz
Massey tallied 11 and 10 digs, respectively, as Campbell chipped in
a match-high four blocks.
Lees-McRae returns to the court on Friday when the Bobcats
travel to Tigerville, S.C. to take on North Greenville University
in a conference matchup. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
