BOONE, N.C. --- Brandon Williams (Raleigh,
N.C.) posted a pair of top-six finishes on Thursday afternoon to
lead the Lees-McRae College men's track and field team to a strong
showing at the 2012 Mountaineer Split Indoor Open.
Williams turned in a fourth-place performance in the 200-meter
dash with a mark of 23.27 seconds, while also finishing sixth in
the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.01 ticks. Junior Kevin Dever
(Leesburg, N.J.) placed second in the pole vault with a
personal-record mark of 4.60 meters, as Nazaire Saintine
(Douglasville, Ga.) finished second in the high jump with a leap of
2.00 meters.
Donte Barker (Atlanta, Ga.) and Christopher Dye (Gastonia, N.C.)
finished sixth and seventh, respectively, with personal-best marks
of 52.28 and 53.04 seconds. Bradley King (Hildebran, N.C.) placed
eighth in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.27 seconds, while
Devan Mackey (Hickory, N.C.) took eighth in the weight throw with a
personal-best mark of 12.93 meters.
Lees-McRae returns to action on January 27 and 28 at the
Niswonger Open in Johnson City, Tenn.
