BOONE, N.C./CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Lees-McRae men's and women's track & field teams opened their outdoor season today with the Mountaineer First Chance at App State and the 49er Classic at Charlotte.
THE BASICS
MEET: Mountaineer First Chance/49er Classic
LOCATION: Randy Marion Track & Field Facility – Boone, North Carolina/Irwin Belk Track and Field Center - Charlotte, North Carolina
NOTABLES:
- Lora Dillon earned first place in the Women's Triple Jump with a mark of 11.30 meters on her fourth attempt at App State.
- Joshua Gillis placed second in the Men's 800 Meters with a time of 1:56.06.
- Max Geckler ended Friday evening with a sixth-place finish in the 10,000 Meters at the 49er Classic with a personal-best time of 31:06.34.
- Campbell Dille joined Geckler in Charlotte for the 10,000 Meters in the women's race and finished with a time of 38:13.07.
- Keagan Osika concluded her two-day event in the Heptathlon on Friday morning with 3,639 points. Osika placed seventh individually in the event.
- Andrew Belcher had a mark of 42.36 meters in the Javelin and took seventh for the Bobcats. Belcher placed fourth in the Men's Discus with a throw of 43.56 meters.
- Morgan Gray placed seventh in the Women's Hammer Throw at App State with a throw of 36.03 meters. Gray had a throw of 9.64 meters in the Women's Shot Put.
- JD Green cleared 1.90 meters in the Men's High Jump and earned third place.
- Joshua Ehresman recorded fourth place in the Men's Shot Put with a throw of 14.31 meters.
- Jocelyn Walker cleared 2.89 meters on her third attempt in the Women's Pole Vault and took fifth.
- Lodrick Scott registered third place in the Men's Triple Jump with a mark of 13.53 meters. Scott took fourth in the Men's 400 Meter Hurdles with a time of 59.37.
- Ellie Cobb completed the 400 Meters in a time of 1:02.48 and Landri Martinka followed with a time of 1:02.50 for the Bobcats.
- Rebecca Kleiber placed 10th in the 800 Meters with a time of 2:49.13.
- Rien Freeman took fourth in the Men's 3,000 Steeplechase with a time of 10:02.44.
- Megan Knapp collected sixth in the Women's 1,500 Meters with a time of 4:55.30.
- Isaac Reyna turned in a fifth-place performance in the 5,000 Meters with a time of 15:23.03.
