CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- Sophomore Evan Webb
(Salisbury, N.C.) posted a personal-best of 4.61 meters in the pole
vault to lead the Lees-McRae College men's track and field team to
an impressive performance at the Kent Taylor Invitational Indoor
Track and Field Meet.
Nazaire Saintine (Douglasville, Ga.) turned in the top finish of
the day for the Bobcats, placing fourth in the high jump with a
mark of 1.96 meters, while finishing fifth in the long jump with a
jump of 6.59 meters. Webb placed sixth in the pole vault with a
personal-best mark of 4.61 meters, as Kevin Dever (Leesburg, N.J.)
finished seventh with a vault of 4.31 meters.
Devan Mackey (Hickory, N.C.) turned in a solid performance on
the day, finishing ninth in the weight throw with a mark of 13.05
meters to go along with a 10th-place showing in the shot put with a
toss of 11.89 meters. Saintine, Travis Burton (Newberry, S.C.),
Christopher Dye (Gastonia, N.C.), and Donte Barker (Atlanta, Ga.)
teamed to finish eighth in the 4x400-meter relay, posting a time of
3:31.62.
Lees-McRae returns to action Friday, February 17 when the
Bobcats travel to Boone, N.C. to take part in Appalachian State
University's Pre-Conference Meet.
