BANNER ELK, N.C. --- Junior Cheyenne Warrick blasted the golden goal in the second overtime period propelling the Lees-McRae women's soccer team to a 1-0 win against Catawba on a chilly Wednesday evening at Tate Field in Banner Elk, N.C.

The Bobcats (4-7) have won consecutive matches for the first time this season and tallied 22 shots for the second time this season. The Indians (3-7) used an impressive performance from their goalie, Angelica Pawlowski, who amassed 12 saves.

Both teams came out shooting and shooting accurately while both goalies made three saves each in the first 25:24 of play.

LMC netminder Alexis Feely (Wake Forest, N.C.) earned her second consecutive clean slate by making five saves on the night.

Pawlowski kept the stingy Bobcats off the board when she fully extended and was able to get a hand on a Kelsey Twigg (Barrie, Ontario, Canada) bullet.

Freshman Nikki Torres (Monroe, N.C.) launched a shot that clanked off the crossbar with 80 seconds remaining in regulation.

After a harmless first overtime, Sarah Mahar (Jacksonville, Fla.) streaked down the left side and found a wide open Warrick (Pikeville, N.C.), who hammered home the match-winner.

It was her second goal of the season.

Senior Mallory Overholt (Grand Bend, Ontario, Canada), Mahar and Torres recorded five shots each.

Coach Kiko Magaña's squad travels to Mount Olive Saturday, Oct. 17 at 1 p.m. for a Conference Carolinas tilt in Mount Olive, N.C.
