Carney Collects Hat Trick in Loss at Pfeiffer, 24-5

MISENHEIMER, N.C. --- Sophomore Dane Carney netted his first career hat trick while the Lees-McRae men's lacrosse team dropped a Conference Carolinas battle, 24-5, to Pfeiffer Wednesday afternoon at N.E. Lefko Field in Misenheimer, N.C.

The Falcons (3-1, 1-0 CC) used a six-goal, four-assist performance from Kyle Pauwels while Robert Nelson scooped nine groundballs. The Bobcats (0-2, 0-1) forced 22 turnovers while Jordan Lombardo (York, Pa.) amassed eight saves.

Junior Blaine Stottlar continued his impressive start to the 2015 campaign with an unassisted goal 1:28 into the contest.

PU responded with a 16-0 run, powered by Pauwels and four goals from Eddie Renaud.

Dalton Lamb (Clemmons, N.C.) dished out an assist to Carney (Manchester, England) with 7:20 remaining in the third quarter.

The Falcons took advantage of three man-up opportunities in the fourth while Cole Paciejewski and Cole Sheen netted goals.

Carney bested PU's Jacob Michel with a pair of goals in the fourth quarter. Louis Parks (Mays Landing, N.J.) and Stottlar provided the assists.

Lamb notched a power play goal with eight seconds left in the contest.

LMC outshot PU 25-18 in the second half.

The Bobcats travel to Young Harris Saturday, Feb. 28 at 12 p.m. in Young Harris, Ga.
