Men's Lacrosse Defeated at Young Harris, 18-5

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. --- Sophomore Dane Carney notched his second consecutive hat trick, but the Lees-McRae men's lacrosse team dropped an 18-5 nonconference decision at Young Harris Saturday afternoon in Young Harris, Ga.

The Mountain Lions (2-2) had five players with at least two goals while Liam Cunningham had three and a game-high seven shots. The Bobcats (0-3) saw an impressive performance from Dominick Hamilton (Beech Mountain, N.C.), who won 11 faceoffs.

YHU's Jayden Campbell notched a goal and a pair of assists in the first quarter while LMC's Blaine Stottlar (Clinton, N.Y.) continued his first quarter dominance.

The junior has tallied a goal in the first quarter of all three LMC games this season.

Carney (Manchester, England) needed only 4:17 to notch a hat trick while Stottlar and Ethan Thomson (Clinton, N.Y.) provided assists.

Sophomore Louis Parks (Mays Landing, N.J.) dished out an assist to Dalton Lamb (Clemmons, N.C.) to halt YHU's 6-0 run.

Freshman Jordan Lombardo (York, Pa.) amassed a season-high 15 saves while the Bobcats forced 13 turnovers.

LMC welcomes Wheeling Jesuit Tuesday, March 3 at 4 p.m. to Tate Field.
