JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. --- Freshman Kara Travis collected a pair of hits while the Lees-McRae softball fell to Carson-Newman, 8-0, before dropping a 7-0 decision to Davis & Elkins Friday afternoon at The Vick in Jefferson City, Tenn.

The Eagles (9-2) enjoyed three-hit performances from Bre Lockett and Brooke Ramsey while Haley Taylor chipped in with two hits and a pair of RBI's.

The Bobcats (1-8) threatened to score, but a strike out and fly out ended the scoring opportunity.
CNU used three singles up the middle, including a two-run knock by Taylor to take a 2-0 lead after two innings of play.
Sophomore Valerie Hickey (Umatilla, Fla.) exhibited patience at the dish by drawing a pair of walks on the day while the team only struck out once in the contest.

Sarah Howard drilled a two-run homerun to left following an LMC error. Consecutive triples from Kristen Toppel and Talisa Fiame plated two more runs.
CNU wreaked havoc on the base paths with a double steal that resulted in a run. A Ramsey RBI single enforced the run rule in the bottom of the fifth.
