SALISBURY, N.C. --- The Lees-McRae men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Catawba at the Johnson Tennis Center Wednesday afternoon in Salisbury, N.C.
The Indians (11-5) claimed their sixth win in their last seven matches. The Bobcats fell to 3-9 on the season.
Carlos Pinel (Vitoria, Espírito Santo, Brazil) and Garrett Lakey (North Wilkesboro, N.C.) dropped three-set thrillers.
Pinel battled Jack Mordey in No. 2 singles, but fell short 4-6, 7-6, 5-10.
Lakey hung tight with Michael Patch in No. 4 singles, but ultimately was defeated 3-6, 6-4, 4-10.
LMC hosts Conference Carolinas foe North Greenville Saturday, March 21 at 12 p.m. at the LMC Tennis Courts in Banner Elk, N.C.
