BANNER ELK, N.C. --- Pol Vassart scored midway through the first half and the Lees-McRae defense held strong while defeating Mount Olive, 1-0, in a Conference Carolinas tilt Saturday afternoon during Homecoming at Tate Field in Banner Elk, N.C.
The Bobcats (3-7, 3-3 CC) produced their second clean slate of the year. The Trojans remain winless and fall to 0-7-1.
Vassart (Arnhem, Netherlands) finished off a double assist from Taylor Gray (Hughesville, Md.) and Thomas Deeley (Oxford, England) at the 29:48 mark.
Junior Tyler Pavlet (Goodyear, Ariz.) made five saves secure the shutout.
LMC took a dozen shots in the second half.
The Bobcats travel to Lincoln Memorial Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 3 p.m. in Harrogate, Tenn.
