BOONE, N.C. – The Lees-McRae College men's tennis team fell in its spring opening match at Appalachian State Sunday morning, 9-0. LMC's record moves to 0-3 on the season with the defeat.
The highlight of the match was Gabriel Muniz taking his match to three sets in the No. 1 singles position against Jack Maddocks. Muniz ended up dropping the third frame by a 6-0 final tally.
"The Bobcats competed well today," said LMC Head Coach Don Marriott. "We pushed a well-coached team in Appalachian State. I'm very pleased with our fight on the courts today."
Lees-McRae will return to action Feb. 10 at Greensboro. That match is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start time.
