GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The Lees-McRae College men's lacrosse team fell on the road at Tusculum Sunday evening by a score of 19-5. The loss pushes Lees-McRae's record to 0-6 on the 2020 campaign.
Tusculum jumped on the Bobcats early in Sunday's contest. The Pioneers netted five goals in the first quarter and 10 more in the second to take a 15-1 lead into the halftime break. Lees-McRae and Tusculum played to a 4-4 tie on the scoreboard in the third and fourth quarters but early deficit proved too large for the Bobcats to come back from.
Ryan Beauchamp led the Bobcats with three points against the Pioneers with two goals and one assist. Craig Barr posted a goal and chipped in an assist as well, while Jackson Galloway and Mike Moore added goals as well to round out the scoring on Sunday for Lees-McRae.
Jack Cruz made the start in goal for the Bobcats and ended up taking the loss dropping his record to 0-4. Cruz made 10 saves on 25 shots faced in 30 minutes of action. Josh Csanyi played the second half in goal for Lees-McRae and made five saves in nine opportunities.
Lees-McRae will have a little bit of a break until its next game. The Bobcats are scheduled to be back in action in their home opener on March 5 against Shorter. That contest is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
