Daniel Garvilla and
Tamino Brown scored first-half goals, but it was not enough as visiting Mars Hill scored the game-winning goal in the 70th minute to clinch the non-conference victory on Tate Field this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Mars Hill sprinted out of the gates with fourt shots in the first 11 minutes of action, but it was the Bobcats who struck first as Garvilla lofted a shot into the top-left corner off a breakaway in the 21st minute for his second goal of the season.
- The Lions responded just 51 seconds later with the game-tying goal and reclaimed the lead with a goal in the 23rd minute.
- Lees-McRae evened the score in the 25th minute as Brown received a pass from Zach Aversano and scored his third goal of the season.
- The Bobcats had two chances late, with one shot being saved and the other just missing the top of the frame to keep the score at 2-2 at halftime.
- Both teams played to a standstill in the first 25 minutes of the second half until Mars Hill scored the game-winning goal in the 70th minute.
- Lees-McRae failed to convert any of their second half scoring chances as the game ended with a 3-2 score.
- M.J. Upchurch finished with a game-high six saves in net for the Bobcats.
- Mars Hill finished with an 18-10 edge (9-5 in shots on goal) and finished with a game-high eight corner kicks.
FOR THE FOES:
- Sebastian Bertilsson finished with two goals and an assist to lead the Lions.
- Kevonte Willoughby-Williams tallied a goal and an assist.
