GAFFNEY, S.C. – Five Bobcats finished with multiple hits in game two, including a pair of home runs by
Addyson Ikard and
Lauren Ritchie, to lead the Lees-McRae softball team to a doubleheader split with host Limestone in the non-conference action this afternoon. The Bobcats dropped the first game 6-3, before clinching a 6-3 win in the later game.
GAME #1 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Limestone – 6; Lees-McRae – 3

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Ikard and Hannah Foster paced the Bobcats in the early game, each going 1 for 3 from the plate with an RBI.
- Morgan Crowe and Sarah Beth Thomas also finished with a hit, while Ashlyn Mills added an RBI.
- The Bobcats opened the scoring in the top of the first inning, after finding themselves with bases loaded with two out.
- Foster reached on a fielder's choice that scored Crowe, Ikard singled to score Julie Gast and Mills walked to score Cassidy Coleman from third base.
- The Saints responded by scoring a run in the bottom of the frame.
- Limestone scored three in the bottom of the second to claim their first lead of the afternoon, before adding insurance markers in the bottom of fourth and sixth to clinch the opening game victory.
- Charlsy Traylor was credited with the loss in the circle, scattering six runs on 13 hits in six innings of work.
FOR THE FOES:
- Vic Brewington and Audra Butler each went 3 for 4 from the plate to pace Limestone.
- Haley White picked up the win for the Saints, giving up only three runs on four hits in seven innings of work.
GAME #2 BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Amber Corvin, Foster, Ikard, and Ritchie all finished 2 for 4 from the plate and combined to tally six RBIs, led by Foster with a game-high three RBIs, to lead the Bobcats in game two.
- Crowe finished 2 for 3 from the dish, while Thomas finished with two runs scored.
- Lees-McRae struck first for the second-consecutive game as Ikard and Ritchie connected on back-to-back solo home runs in the top of the second inning to give the Bobcats the early lead.
- Foster's single in the top of the third extended the Bobcats lead to 3-0, before Limestone responded with two runs in the bottom of the fifth to trim the deficit to 3-2.
- The Bobcats used a two-RBI double by Foster in the top of the sixth and an RBI single by Corvin in the top of the seventh to push the lead back to 6-2.
- The Saints scored one final run in the bottom of the frame, but it wasn't enough as the Bobcats clinched the doubleheader sweep.
- Raygan Rensing gave up only three runs on seven hits to clinch her second win of the season.
FOR THE FOES:
- Brewington and Jaylin Adkins each went 2-3 from the plate to lead the Saints in the second game.
- Carolina Ruth was credited with the loss on the mound for Limestone, giving up six runs on 12 hits in seven innings of work.
