BANNER ELK, N.C. – King held the Lees-McRae women's basketball team under 28 percent shooting from the field and posted a 40-16 halftime lead en route to a 74-43 victory over the host Bobcats in the Conference Carolinas contest this evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Jessica Henderson and Destiny Johnson each finished with a team-high seven points to pace the Bobcats.
- Davinique Campbell added five points and a team-high six rebounds.
- Lees-McRae opened the contest by scoring the first four points before the Tornado closed on an 18-4 run to claim an 18-8 lead at the first intermission.
- King outscored the Bobcats 22-8 in the second frame to extend its lead to 40-16 at halftime.
- Lees-McRae trimmed the deficit under 20 points on a jumper by MaKayla Smith with four minutes left in the third quarter, but it was closest the Bobcats came as King clinched the conference victory.
- The Bobcats held a 20-8 advantage in second-chance points but were outscored 18-6 in points off turnovers and 24-5 in fast break points.
FOR THE FOES:
- Trinity Lee scored a game-high 15 points to pace the Tornado, while also chipping in nine rebounds and two assists.
- Julie Ford added 12 points and six rebounds, while Ali Golden tallied four points, six assists and four rebounds.
