FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. –
Caitlyn Smirne and
Kaden Hill led the Bobcats with a combined 14 kills, but it was not enough as the Lees-McRae women's volleyball team dropped a straight-sets loss to host Emmanuel in the Conference Carolinas action this evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Smirne posted a team-high eight kills to go along with eight digs and a service ace.
- Hill chipped in six kills, while Carlee Allbaugh tallied 17 assists and a team-high 12 digs.
- Lauren Xayavong added 11 digs and an ace.
- Emmanuel stormed out of the gates by scoring seven of the first eight points, until the Bobcats responded with a run of their own to trim the deficit to two points on a kill by Smirne.
- The Lions closed on a 6-3 run to clinch the first frame, 25-21.
- The Bobcats survived multiple rallies by Emmanuel in the second set but failed to shift momentum as Emmanuel clinched a 25-20 victory to take a 2-0 sets lead.
- The Lions used an 11-4 run to clinch the third frame, 25-20, en route to claiming the straight-sets victory.
- Emmanuel held a 49-27 edge in kills, while Lees-McRae finished with five blocks and five aces.
FOR THE FOES:
- Emily Hanson paced the Lions by posting a game-high 16 kills on a .577 hitting percentage.
- Hallie Richardson chipped in nine kills, while Gabrielle McGlamery tallied 26 assists.
UP NEXT:
The Bobcats travel to Mount Olive on Friday, March 5 to open the Conference Carolinas regular season. The first serve is slated for 4 p.m.
