Alivia Larson and
Caitlyn Smirne combined for 19 kills and 11 digs as Lees-McRae's third-set rally fell short in the straight-set loss to host Mount Olive in the conference opener this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Larson finished with a team-high 10 kills to go along with six digs, while Smirne posted nine kills and five digs.
- Carlee Allbaugh chipped in 25 set assists and nine digs, while Lauren Xayavong added a team-high 17 digs.
- Mahealani Chun also finished with nine digs and a service ace.
- Mount Olive closed the first set on a 14-5 run to clinch a 25-13 win in the opening stanza.
- Lees-McRae responded by starting the second frame on a 6-3 run to take the early lead.
- The Trojans responded with a 13-3 run to shift momentum and used a late kill to claim a 25-21 win in the second set.
- Both teams traded runs early in the third frame with the Bobcats taking a 17-15 lead on a kill by Kavanna Held and back-to-back kills by Larson.
- The lead changed hands five times over the next couple of points as Lees-McRae claimed a 28-27 lead late, but Mount Olive finished off the contest with a pair of service aces.
- The Trojans held an 8-4 edge in aces and a slim 64-62 advantage in digs.
FOR THE FOES:
- Starr Sergent finished with 10 kills to pace the Trojans, while also adding eight digs.
- Ele'sia Williams tallied nine kills, while Jenna Myer and Madison Goodman combined for 33 set assists.
