BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae Athletic Department has revised its indoor venue spectator policy for its home athletic events in the Williams Gymnasium that will take effect at the next home match on Wednesday, March 10. Family members of the Lees-McRae student-athletes will be allowed to attend with strict rules in accordance with county and state guidelines, along with NCAA protocols. Lees-McRae students and visiting fans will not be allowed at this time.
"We are excited to welcome back fans to the Williams Gymnasium," said Vice President for Athletics and Club Sports
Craig McPhail. "Trying to navigate the safety of our student-athletes, while knowing how important family is, has been something we have closely monitored."
Family members must be on the player's pass list that is given to the Lees-McRae leadership at the beginning of the game week to be allowed in the venue. All spectators in attendance must observe the social distancing of a minimum of six feet at all contests and are required to wear a face-covering that covers both the nose and mouth at all times. Members of the same household are welcome to stand/sit near each other while individuals must maintain proper physical distance at all times.
Spectators must enter through the front entrance of the Williams Gymnasium to check-in and must exit the venue promptly at the end of the contest (this includes doubleheader matches). All fans will be subject to a temperature check and symptom screening when entering the building.
As in years past, the Lees-McRae Sports Information Office will stream all home contests on the
Conference Carolinas Digital Network. This will also include a free "on-demand" feature, allowing fans to rewatch any of the Bobcats' home and away contests at any time. Events can be viewed by using streaming devices such as Roku, AppleTV, and Amazon Fire. There will also be free watch parties in the Dining Hall for all Lees-McRae students to attend.
Attendance policies for all road contests against conference and non-conference opponents will be at the discretion of the host institution. Fans are encouraged to check with the host institution for any restrictions on attendance. To view the composite schedule for all athletic events, click
