WILSON, N.C. –
Caitlyn Smirne and
Olivia Ney both posted double-digit kills, while
Carlee Allbaugh chipped in 38 set assists and 11 digs, to lead the Lees-McRae women's volleyball team to a five-set victory over host Barton in the Conference Carolinas action this afternoon.

RECORDS: Lees-McRae (4-2/1-1), Barton (1-7/1-3)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Smirne posted her second double-double of the season with 17 kills and 12 digs, while Ney finished with 10 kills and four service aces.
- Hanna Steckler tallied eight kills, two solo blocks, and one block assist.
- Kaden Hill added six kills and a game-high five block assists, while Lauren Xayavong chipped in a team-high 15 digs.
- Lees-McRae held an early 9-5 lead in the first set before Barton closed on a 4-2 run to clinch a 25-23 win in set one.
- The Bobcats used a 7-2 run early and a 6-2 run late to even the score at 1-1 with a 25-18 victory in the second frame.
- The lead changed hands multiple times in the third set, with Lees-McRae scoring four of the last five points, with kills going to Natasha Colon Moreno, Steckler, and Hill, to claim the third set 25-22.
- After Barton clinched a 25-22 win in set four to force a fifth set, the Bobcats used a 7-1 run and a pair of final Bulldog attacking errors to close out the five-set victory.
- Lees-McRae finished with a game-high and season-high 11 service aces, compared to three for Barton, and held an 11-7 edge in blocks.
FOR THE FOES:
- Allison Gambill finished with a game-high 23 kills to pace the Bulldogs.
- Kaytlin Elkins and Carolina Schoonover finished with 19 and 12 kills respectively.

The Bobcats will visit North Greenville next Friday, March 12 for a Conference Carolinas showdown starting at 4:30 p.m.
