Hannah Davies scored her first goal of the season in the 11th minute, while
Mallory Roughton made four saves to earn her first career shutout, to lead the Lees-McRae women's soccer team past visiting Shaw in the non-conference contest this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae proved to be the aggressive team early as they tallied two corner kicks and a shot in the first five minutes of action and were rewarded in the 11th minute a Davies scored a shot from outside the 18-yard box to give the Bobcats the early lead.
- Shaw had one of their best scoring chances of the first half in the 18th minute that warranted a save by Roughton.
- The Bobcats nearly had their second goal with a one-on-one breakaway against the Bears' goalkeeper in the 33rd minute, but a late challenge by the defender took away the opportunity and earned a red card to a Shaw defender.
- Lees-McRae outshot Shaw 7-2 in the second half, to along with a game-high four corner kicks in the final 45 minutes but failed to extend their lead.
- Alexa Todd had one final scoring opportunity in the 86th minute, with a final save by the Bears holding the score at 1-0.
- The Bobcats held a 14-6 shots (7-4 shots-on-goal) edge in the contest.

- Maude Rouanet made five saves in net for the Bears.
