Haley Lowman scored her second goal of the season, but it was not enough as UNC Pembroke scored two first-half goals en route to claiming a 3-1 victory over the host Bobcats in the Conference Carolinas opener this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- UNC Pembroke was aggressive out of the gates by tallying a pair of shots in the first two minutes and pushed across the game's first goal in the 17th minute.
- Lees-McRae tallied seven shots in the first 45 minutes of action but failed to break through as the Braves extended the lead to 2-0 with a second goal in the 36th minute.
- The Bobcats had a couple of scoring chances coming from Alexa Todd in the early stages of the second half, with the UNC Pembroke goalkeeper making timely saves.
- After the Braves scored their third goal in the 71st minute, Lowman collected a rebound off an initial shot by Dahlia Bell and buried it for her second goal of the season.
- Mallory Roughton tallied a season-high nine saves in net for the Bobcats.
- UNC Pembroke held a 20-12 shots edge and a 12-5 shots-on-goal advantage in the contest.
FOR THE FOES:
- Rilee Seering, Anna Grossheim, and Zion Sellers all scored for the Braves.
- Chiara Copping made four saves in net for UNC Pembroke
