Haley Lowman scored her first collegiate goal on a penalty kick in the first half to lift the Lees-McRae women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory against non-conference foe USC Aiken to give the Bobcats a 2-0 start for the second-consecutive season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae held the early advantage by tallying a pair of shots in the first 15 minutes of action, with a shot from Pali Smith nearly putting the Bobcats ahead.
- The Bobcats finally broke the deadlock as a shot from Smith in the 32nd minute was saved by the Pacer goalkeeper and fell to Lowman, who was then taken down in the goalie box to earn a penalty kick.
- The freshman buried her penalty attempt in the bottom left corner to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead.
- USC Aiken had multiple scoring chances in the final 10 minutes of the half but failed to breakthrough as the score remained 1-0 at halftime.
- Both teams battled for the entirety of the second half, with the Pacers' final scoring opportunities being squandered by the Bobcats' defense.
- Mallory Roughton and Haile Desmarais shared time in net for the Bobcats, combining to make four saves in the 90 minutes.
- Lees-McRae held a 12-6 shots edge over the Pacers and finished with all three of the game's corner kicks.
