ASHEVILLE, N.C. – NCAA Division I UNC Asheville clinched the doubles point and swept the visiting Bobcats in the singles competitions en route to a 6-0 win over the Lees-McRae women's tennis team in the season opener this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Both of the doubles teams of Mei Hiramatsu/Zeynep Cakirer and Nursharneem Shamsuddin/Rhidaim Yang lost 6-1 matches to their counterparts from the Bulldogs.
- Shamsuddin and Hiramatsu fared the best in the singles competition for the Bobcats with each battling in the #3 singles and #4 singles matched, before ultimately falling short in their matches (6-2, 6-3 for Shamsuddin and 6-2, 6-2 for Hiramatsu).

The Bobcats will travel to Boone, North Carolina on Saturday, Jan. 29 as they compete against NCAA Division I Appalachian State at 10 a.m.
