Adamson Tallies 17 Digs for Women's Volleyball in Three-Set Loss at Emmanuel

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. -- Lees-McRae women's volleyball fell in three sets to Emmanuel on Tuesday evening in its Conference Carolinas regular-season finale. Bre Adamson totaled a match-high 17 digs for the Bobcats in the contest and Sydney Stigler collected seven kills.

FINAL SCORE: Emmanuel def. Lees-McRae, 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-20)

RECORDS: Lees-McRae (7-22/6-12); Emmanuel (23-7/17-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Stigler gave Lees-McRae the early lead after a first point kill as the two sides went point for point in the early stages of the opening set. Emmanuel seized the set after five consecutive points to gain the lead at 19-15 as the Lions won the opening set, 25-18.
  • In the second set, Adamson recorded a service ace as the Bobcats led 5-3, but the Lions took control at 12-6 after a kill by Alaina Emminger. Emmanuel earned the set victory at 25-16 and held a two-set lead.
  • The Bobcats rallied to tie the third set at 11 points, but Emmanuel used a four-point run to collect the 15-11 advantage. The Lions closed the set with the win at 25-20 via an Emily Hanson kill and registered the sweep on Tuesday night.
  • Hailey Gilreath followed Stigler in the kills category with five kills and Annalaine Tew chipped in four for the Bobcats.
  • Julia Emore dished out 10 assists in the contest and Goins tallied nine in three sets.

FOR THE LIONS:
  • Hanson paced Emmanuel with 18 kills as Emminger and Taylor Roberts joined her with double-digit kills with 13 and 11 spikes respectively.
  • Gabrielle McGlamery claimed 38 assists in three sets for the Lions and also had seven digs in the win.
UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae will now enter the first round of the Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Championship as the No. 4 seed in the west and will face No. 5 Converse on Saturday at 2 p.m. The match will be played at King University in Bristol, Tennessee with the winner facing King later on Saturday.
