RESULTS
BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's and women's cycling opened their 2022 Cyclocross Season this morning as the Bobcats hosted the Collegiate CX Showdown today in Banner Elk.
Sam Morrison and
Levi Smith earned victories in their respective races this morning.
THE BASICS
RACE: Collegiate CX Showdown at Lees-McRae
LOCATION: Banner Elk, North Carolina
WOMEN'S NOTABLES:
- Mady Rails led Lees-McRae women's cycling after placing second in the CX Women's A race and Lina Dorscht followed in seventh for the Bobcats.
- In the Women's B/C race, Morrison took the top podium spot after completing the course in a time of 32:19.1 and Riley Gallagher finished in third for Lees-McRae on the day.
MEN'S NOTABLES:
- On the men's side, Pete Swinand was the first Bobcat to cross the finish line as he recorded a fourth-place finish in the Men's A race and Shay Wright had a top-ten finish in seventh place. Max Chilsen, 11th place, and Elias Detrich, 16th place, rounded out the finishes for the Bobcats in the race.
- Smith joined Morrison as the winner of the Men's B/C race after finishing in a time of 31:14.3 and Jackson McLean followed in fourth place.
UP NEXT:
The Bobcats will travel to Bristol, Tennessee next Saturday for their second event of CX Season at King University.
