HARTFORD, Conn. – Lees-McRae women's cycling student-athletes
Lina Dorscht,
Madysen Rails, and Maria Döring all finished in the top 20 in today's Collegiate Women's Varsity race, while
Ian McDonald paced the Bobcat men in 28
th place on Day 1 of the 2022 USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships.

WOMEN'S NOTABLES:
- Dorscht led the Bobcats on the day with a 17th place finish in the Collegiate Women's Varsity race this morning and Rails (19th) and Döring (20th) rounded out the morning session for the Lees-McRae women's cycling team.
- Colorado Mesa's Madigan Munro took the top spot on the podium this morning with Katie Clouse of Colorado Mesa and Natalie Quinn of Fort Lewis crossing the finish line in second and third, respectively.
MEN'S NOTABLES:
- McDonald paced Lees-McRae men's cycling in the Collegiate Men's Varsity race with a 28th place finish and Max Chilsen and Elias Dietrich followed in 45th and 56th , respectively.
- Austin Beard of Colorado Mesa took the title in the men's race with Owen Clark of Brevard and Colorado Mesa's Daxton Mock following in second and third.

Lees-McRae cycling will close out the 2022 USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships tomorrow at 12:10 p.m. as they take part in the Collegiate Team Relay.
