MONTREAT, N.C. –
Shannan Korovich and
Kalbie Grassett combined for 10 goals and three assists, while
Emily Davidson and
Mckenzie Mellen made a combined 12 saves, but it was not enough as host Montreat scored with just 1:57 left in the overtime session to clinch the non-conference win over the visiting Bobcats this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Korovich scored a game-high six goals to go along with two assists and a ground ball, while Grassett tallied four goals, an assist, three ground balls, and a game-high four caused turnovers.
- Genesis Lutsky and Nim Castro also scored two goals each, while Haley Donovan finished with two assists.
- Both teams traded goals for the majority of the first quarter, with the Bobcat goals coming Grassett unassisted and Lutsky, who scored her first collegiate goal, off an assist from Korovich.
- Montreat tallied a late goal to claim a 3-2 edge at the first intermission.
- The Cavaliers outscored the Bobcats 6-5 in the second frame, with the Bobcat goals going to Korovich (2), Grassett, Lutsky, and Castro, to take a 9-7 halftime lead.
- After Castro opened the scoring in the second half, just 49 seconds in the frame, Montreat tallied three unanswered goals to push the lead back to 12-8.
- Korovich and Grassett scored again to trim the deficit to 12-10 at the second to last intermission.
- Lees-McRae outscored the hosts 4-2 in the fourth quarter to extend the contest into the extra session.
- Montreat scored with just under two minutes left in the game to clinch the non-conference win.
FOR THE FOES:
- Kate Gauntlett finished with five goals and three assists to pace the Cavaliers.
- Carlie Henning made 10 saves for Montreat.
