Conference Carolinas Tournament Website
PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Lees-McRae women's basketball team, under head coach Keith Jennings, will make their fourth Conference Carolinas postseason tournament appearance in the previous five season when it battles No. 8 Emmanuel as the No. 9 seed in the first round on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. in Pembroke, North Carolina. The Bobcats entered last year's postseason tournament as the No. 8 seed, before falling short in a loss to eventual champion No. 1 Belmont Abbey.
The winner of Sunday's first round contest will advance to the second round and will face No. 5 UNC Pembroke on Monday, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. The winner of that contest will advance to the quarterfinals in Spartanburg, South Carolina on Friday, March 4 to take on No. 4 Chowan at 6 p.m. For the full women's basketball bracket, click

Scouting the Bobcats…The Bobcats closed out their regular season with a pair of wins over Belmont Abbey and Southern Wesleyan en route to clinching a 9-17 overall record (9-15 conference record) to earn the ninth seed in the playoffs. Junior
MaKayla Smith lead the Bobcats in scoring and ranks 14th in the league at 13.0 points/game and ranks fourth in the conference in steals at 2.0 steals/game this season. Senior

Jala Holloman are both at 11.8 points/game, while Holloman is tied for first in the league with 2.2 steals/game.
Scouting the Lions…The Lions enter Sunday's first round contest with a 9-16 overall (9-13 conference) record, including splitting the season series with the Bobcats by winning at home on Feb. 11. Sophomore Sydney Wyatt lead Emmanuel in scoring and is ninth in the conference at 14.2 pts/game, while junior Jazmin Allen ranks 11th in scoring (13.6 pts/game) and second in rebounding (10.3) in the league this season.
The Rivalry…Lees-McRae is 3-11 all-time against the Lions, with two of the wins coming in Banner Elk on Feb. 8, 2022 (52-50 win) and on Jan. 15, 2020 (63-52 win). The Bobcats are also 0-1 in neutral site games this season, losing to Young Harris, 62-56, back on Nov. 13.
