MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. –
Michael Marsans finished with a match-high 26 kills, while Brad Peters and
M.J. Doyle chipped in 35 assists and 12 digs respectively, but it was not enough as Mount Olive finished with a 10-2 advantage in services aces and finished with a match-high 11 blocks en route to clinching the four-set victory over the visiting Bobcats in the Conference Carolinas match this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Marsans paced the Bobcats with a .208 hitting percentage and finished with two digs.
- Peters chipped in four kills, a block assist, and three digs, while Doyle also added two kills and a service ace.
- Mount Olive sprinted out of the gates by scoring 18 of the first 26 points and held off a late Bobcat rally to clinch the first frame, 25-12.
- The Trojans extended their sets advantage by posting a 25-15 win in set two.
- Lees-McRae responded in the third set by matching Mount Olive point-for-point to even the score at 21-21.
- The Bobcats used kills by Peters and Marsans and a pair of Trojans errors to clinch a 25-23 in set three.
- Mount Olive closed out the conference win by winning the fourth set with a 25-13 score.
FOR THE FOES:
- Tyran Gillespie finished with a team-high 13 kills, while Jarrod Ferguson chipped in 41 assists.
