Kalbie Grassett,
Haley Donovan, and
Nim Castro all scored multiple goals, but it was not enough as Belmont Abbey used a pair of 7-0 scoring runs en route to clinching a 20-8 win over the host Bobcats in the Conference Carolinas contest this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Grassett chipped in a team-high three goals to go along with a ground ball, a caused turnover, and two draw controls.
- Donovan added two goals, a game-high nine draw controls, and a caused turnover, while Castro tallied two goals, a game-high five ground balls, and a caused turnover.
- Genesis Lutsky chipped in a goal and an assist, with Anna Stutts adding an assist.
- After a scoreless first eight minutes, Belmont Abbey opened the scoring with 6:28 left in the first stanza and extended their lead to 6-0 at the end of the first quarter.
- Grassett, Lutsky, and Castro all scored second-quarter goals, with Castro scoring with only four seconds left in the first half, to trim the deficit to 10-3 at halftime.
- After Donovan scored a pair of goals just four minutes apart to cut the lead to 11-5, the Crusaders went on a 7-0 run, which extended into the fourth quarter, to extend the lead back to 18-5.
- Grassett scored twice, while Castro scored her second goal, in the fourth frame, but it wasn't enough as Belmont Abbey clinched the conference win.
- Emily Davidson and Mckenzie Mellen combined to make 12 saves in net for the Bobcats.
- The Crusaders held a 32-14 edge in shots-on-goal and forced 26 Lees-McRae turnovers.
- The Bobcats won 17 of the 31 total draw controls.
FOR THE FOES:
- Mackenzie Kaderabek and Riley D'Andrea combined for 11 goals and three assists to pace the Crusaders.
- Michelle Guppy and Becca Creekmore combined for six saves in net for Belmont Abbey.
UP NEXT:
The Bobcats will travel to Tigerville, South Carolina on Wednesday for a Conference Carolinas showdown against North Greenville at 4 p.m.
