Michael Marsans finished with a match-high 23 kills, while
Bradley Peters chipped in six kills, 21 assists, and six digs, but it was not enough as visiting Queens (N.C.) finished with a slim 8-4 edge in service aces en route to clinching a three-set win over the Bobcats in the non-conference match this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Marsans finished with a .475 hitting percentage to go along with two service aces, two block assists, and five digs.
- Max Kuntz chipped in three block assists and seven digs, while Steven Nalls tallied a team-high nine digs.
- After Queens opened with a sizeable run in the first set, Lees-McRae rallied to cut the lead to 24-18 late in the first stanza.
- Marsans, Riley Chapman, and Nicholas Brewster tallied kills as Lees-McRae used a 5-0 run to cut the deficit to 24-23.
- A final kill by the Royals gave Queens a 25-23 win in set one.
- The Royals used a 12-3 run in the second set to shift momentum and closed with a 4-1 run to win the second set, 25-18.
- Lees-McRae sprinted out to a quick 5-1 lead in the third set, but Queens slowly chipped away to take a 19-18 lead.
- The Royals closed out the non-conference win by claiming six of the final 10 points.
- Both teams finished with 36 kills and seven total blocks.
FOR THE FOES:
- Jack Brinkman talied 18 kills, while Brandon Grabow added 27 assists, to pace the Royals.
