Michael Marsans finished with a match-high 16 kills, while
Bradley Peters chipped in 22 assists, seven kills, and seven digs, but it was not enough as visiting King held a 39-34 edge in kills and a 5-1 advantage in service aces en route to clinching a three-set win in the Conference Carolinas match this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Marsans finished with a .290 hitting percentage to go along with six digs and two assists.
- Max Kuntz added six kills, a block assist, and three digs, while Riley Chapman chipped in six assists, three kills, and four digs.
- Lees-McRae sprinted out of the gates by scoring six of the first eight points, but failed to grab momentum as King used a 12-4 run to take 17-11 lead in set one.
- After Lees-McRae used a kill by Sebastian Heer to cut the deficit to 23-19, the Tornado scored three of the final four points to clinch a 25-19 win in set one.
- Both teams traded points in the opening minutes of the second set with King ended on a 5-2 run to win the second set, 27-25.
- The Tornado opened the third frame with a 14-6 run, but Lees-McRae responded with 7-2 run to cut the deficit to 16-13.
- After Lees-McRae trimmed the deficit 23-19 late in the third set, King scored the final two points to clinch the conference win.
FOR THE FOES:
- Seutonius Harris and Joshua Kim combined for 25 kills to pace the Tornado, while Jack Sarnowski chipped in 34 assists.
