Genesis Lutsky combined for seven goals, but it was not enough as host Southern Wesleyan tallied four goasl in each of the first three quarters en route to clinching a 13-8 win in the Conference Carolinas opener for both teams this afternoon.
THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Grassett finished with a team-high three goals, two caused turnovers, five ground balls, and six draw controls, while Donovan and Lutsky both scored two goals and combined for five draw controls.
- Castro also collected a goal for the Bobcats.
- Southern Wesleyan sprinted out of the gates with two goals in the first 1:30 to take an early lead, but the Bobcats used a free-position goal by Donovan and a goal by Lutsky to even the score at 2-2.
- The Warriors scored the next four goals to extend the lead back to 6-2.
- Grassett, Lutsky, and Donovan all scored in the second frame to cut the lead back to 6-5.
- Southern Wesleyan scored the final two goals of the first half to take an 8-5 lead at halftime.
- The Warriors outscored the Bobcats 4-1 in the third frame, with the lone Lees-McRae goal going to Grassett, to extend the lead to 12-6 at the final intermission.
- Castro and Grassett both scored in the final quarter, but it was not enough as Southern Wesleyan clinched the conference win.
- Emily Davidson and Mckenzie Mellen made 14 saves in net for the Bobcats.
- Lees-McRae held a 29-27 advantage in shots-on-goals and were had the game's only extra-person opportunity.
FOR THE FOES:
- Kelsey Hawkins and Tabitha Beecher combined for seven goals and five assists to pace the Warriors.
- Kaeleigh McDaniel finished with a game-high 21 saves for Southern Wesleyan
