NEWLAND, N.C. – The Lees-McRae women's tennis team won all three doubles matches and posted victories in five of the six singles matches en route to clinching a 6-1 win over "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup" rival King in the Conference Carolinas match this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The doubles team of Anita Ivanova and Nursharneem Shamsuddin clinched a 6-3 victory in the #1 doubles match, while the team of Mei Hiramatsu and Zeynep Cakirer posted a 6-2 win in the #2 doubles match to clinch the doubles point for the Bobcats.
- Cakirer rallied from a first-set loss in the #1 singles match to clinch a 4-6, 6-1, 10-7 win, while Ivanova won the #3 singles match by a 6-0, 6-3 score.
- Shamsuddin won a pro set in the #4 singles match by an 8-2 score, with Rhidaim Yang posting a 6-0, 6-3 win in the #5 singles match.
- Laura Ocampo clinched a win by default in the #6 singles match, while Ocampo and Yang won by default in the #3 doubles match.
NOTEWORTHY:
- With the win, Lees-McRae earns another point in the season-long "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup" competition against rival King.
