PEMBROKE, N.C.. –
Brooke Allen scored the first goal of the match for Lees-McRae women's soccer, but the Braves of UNC Pembroke rallied for the 2-1 victory in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lexi Hanson had an early chance in the fourth minute of play but UNCP's goalkeeper Chiara Coppin made the first save of the match.
- Mallory Roughton kept the score at zero with three shots on goal by the Braves in the middle stages of the first half as the two sides went into the halftime break deadlocked at zero.
- Allen finished a strike in the back of the net for the Bobcats in the 51st minute of action to give Lees-McRae the goal advantage off an assist by Taylor Barrineau.
- The Braves tied the contest at one goal apiece after Ashleigh Harris found the right foot of Naomi Fountain off a cross in the 59th minute.
- UNCP continued to look for the go-ahead goal but key saves by Roughton kept the score at one throughout the second half. Anna Grossheim earned the go-ahead goal in the 85th minute of play as the Braves collected the 2-1 victory on Saturday afternoon.
- Hanson tallied three shots on goal for the Bobcats and Allen contributed two shots on target in the match. Hannah Davies and Taylor Barrineau also had one shot on goal with UNCP having the advantage with 11 shots on target.
- Roughton secured a season-high nine stops in the contest for Lees-McRae.
FOR THE BRAVES:
- Fountain led the Braves with three shots on target as Mercy Bell and Grossheim followed with two.
- Coppin earned the win in goal for UNCP with six saves on Saturday afternoon.

Lees-McRae heads to Central, South Carolina on Wednesday, Sept. 28 where they will face Southern Wesleyan in a conference matchup starting at 5 p.m.
