Men's and Women's Tennis Wrap Up Tournament Play at ITA Regional Championships

RESULTS

SUMTER, S.C. – Lees-McRae men's and women's tennis took the courts over the weekend as the Bobcats were in Sumter, South Carolina for the 2022 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Southeast Regional Championships. 

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Facundo Perlov went 1-1 in the main draw of the competition with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Flagler's Cedric Holzmann on Friday. Perlov faced the 16^th seed on Saturday afternoon where Perlov took the first set, 6-3, before falling in three sets (3-6, 6-3, 6-2).
• Max Borisov also competed for Lees-McRae in the men's singles draw with an opening win at 6-0, 6-1 against Emmanuel's Dorian Verrue. Borisov faced the No. 3 seed Nikita Tatyanin of Flagler on Friday afternoon where Nikita won in three sets at 7-5, 5-7, 6-2.
• Borisov and Perlov also teamed up in the men's doubles draw where the two Bobcats topped Barton's pair by a score of 8-6 before falling to Columbus State's duo, 8-2.
• In the women's main draw, Anita Ivanova and Rhidaim Yang posted wins in their opening matches of the weekend before falling in the Round of 32.
• Ivanova and Yang paired together in the women's doubles draw where the two Bobcats dropped their opening match, 8-4, to Wingate's duo on Friday morning.

UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae men's and women's tennis are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 8 when the Bobcats face Mars Hill on the road starting at 12 p.m.
