SPARTANBURG, S.C.. – Sidney Dollar,
Jeremy Golson, and
Timon Jones all scored in double figures for Lees-McRae men's basketball as Converse used an 11-point swing in the second half to earn the 75-68 victory in Conference Carolinas play on Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Dollar had a team-high 13 points on 4-9 shooting and 5-5 from the free-throw line to pace the Bobcats in tonight's contest with Jones following in scoring column with 12. Golson recorded 11 points on 3-5 shooting from beyond-the-arc and went 2-2 from the charity stripe.
- The Bobcats jumped out to a quick 9-1 advantage after two threes via Golson and one by Jones in the opening minutes from Spartanburg. Converse closed the gap and took its first lead of the night at 16-15 after a triple by Jordan Warlick with 9:38 remaining in the first half.
- Lees-McRae regained the lead and took the four-point advantage into the locker room after a layup by Williams Onyeodi to end the half.
- In the start of the second half, the Bobcats extended their margin to eight via a Jaylin Stewart layup, but the Valkyries continued to hang around throughout the middle stages of the second half.
- Trey Smith gave Converse the lead back for the first time in the second half with a three of his own at the 3:59 mark and added another 39 seconds later as the Valkyries held the five-point margin.
- Dollar knotted the score at 68 apiece, but timely free-throw shooting late gave Converse the 75-68 home victory on Tuesday night.
- LJ Rogers scored all eight of his points in the second half with two three-pointers and a jumper to give the Bobcats a six-point edge with 7:08 left in the second half.
FOR THE VALKYRIES:
- Converse had four players score in double-figures on the evening with Smith tallying a game-high 21 points on 6-10 shooting.
- Jay Mitchell followed Smith with 19 and Bosko Bojovic nearly registered a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. Uzziah Dawkins joined his teammates in double-digit scoring with 11 points to go along with six rebounds and five assists.
UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae men's basketball will face off against King (Tenn.) in the "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup" on Saturday, Jan. 14 in Bristol, Tennessee. The showdown is slated for a 4:30 p.m. start.
