Jala Holloman and
Arriana Lizarraga scored in double figures for the Bobcats this evening as Lees-McRae women's basketball fell to Conference Carolinas member Erskine, 53-44, on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Erskine jumped out to a 9-0 lead, but Olivia King stopped the scoring run with a layup at the 5:48 mark of the first quarter. The Bobcats got back within four points at the end of the opening period.
- The Flying Fleet added to their lead to start the second quarter and took the opening half by a score of 28-12 after a three-pointer via Suniyah Rollins.
- Dianna Spence cut Erskine's lead to ten with 2:07 left in the third quarter as Lees-McRae trimmed Erskine's advantage to 15 after 30 minutes of action.
- The Bobcats got within seven points of Erskine's lead, but the Flying Fleet survived to earn the 53-44 victory on home court.
- Lizarraga paced the Bobcats with 12 points to go along with six rebounds and Holloman followed with 10 points, six rebounds, and two assists.
- Olivia King and Spence each had seven points on the evening for Lees-McRae and Sandra Mason dished out three assists and contributed five steals in the contest.
FOR THE FLYING FLEET:
- Mariah Corry buried four three-pointers in Erskine's win and Shanece Mitchell followed with 13 points on a perfect 7-7 from the free-throw line.
- Anzya Cook had 11 points on 3-7 shooting from three-point range and five rebounds to round out the Flying Fleet in double-digit scoring.
UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae makes the trip to Florence, South Carolina on Saturday, Jan. 28 to face the Patriots of Francis Marion. The contest is slated for a 2 p.m. tip-off.
