BANNER ELK, N.C. –
Taylor Barrineau buried the penalty shot in the 43rd minute of tonight's contest as Lees-McRae women's soccer earned the 1-0 victory over King and captured another point in the "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup" standings.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Ezra Carpenter drew the penalty with a little under three minutes remaining in the first half and Barrineau calmly gave the Bobcats the one-goal advantage on the penalty shot.
- Lexi Hanson, Haley Lowman, Ivy Cagno, and Kalee Wiltshire all had opportunities on goal for Lees-McRae in the first 45 minutes.
- The Bobcats continued their pressure in the offensive half with Gwen O'Brien, Averee Andrews, and Hannah Davies tallying shots on target in the second half.
- Maddie Campo collected her second consecutive clean sheet for the Bobcats with two saves on the day.
- Barrineau added two shots on goal and led the Bobcats with the lone goal.
FOR THE TORNADO:
- Kristal Garcia made eight saves in goal for King with the one goal allowed.
- Ella Froehlich and Mackenzie Winters each had a shot on goal for the Tornado.
