BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's soccer fell to Converse on Tuesday evening, 2-0, after the Valkyries scored both of their goals in the final six minutes of the contest.
Sean Green contributed nine saves in tonight's match for the Bobcats.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Converse held the advantage in shots, 19-12, and shots on goal, 11-1, but were unable to find the back of the net until the 84th minute off a miscue from the Bobcats.
- The Valkyries grabbed the lead at 83:55 off a corner kick from Sinan Kilincarslan and Johannes Haden added the second tally in the 88th minute after an initial stop by Green.
- Green made quality saves in the first half with six big stops in the first 45 minutes. Ryan Aliam had the lone shot on target for the Bobcats in the 41st minute but Converse's Mateo Sanchez collected the save.
- Green continued to play well in goal for the Bobcats with saves in the 50th and 66th-minute marks. Kilincarslan put Converse on the board in the 84th minute and Haden finished the ball into the back of the net in the 88th off an assist from Guilherme Fontes.
FOR THE VALKYRIES:
- Fontes and Haden had a team-high two shots for Converse with Haden and Kilincarslan collecting the goals on the night.
