Taylor Simmons have been recognized as Bobcats of the Week for the week of October 23 - October 29.
Swinand, a cyclocross specialist from Evanston, Illinois, took second in Saturday's Collegiate CX Showdown in Banner Elk to start the season. Swinand was joined by Shay Wright, fourth, and Nathan Surowiec, fifth, to round out the Bobcats in the top five in the Men's A CX race.
Simmons, a distance freestyle swimmer from Waxhaw, North Carolina, earned three first-place finishes on Saturday in a tri-meet with King and Mars Hill. Simmons took over 17 seconds off her season-best time in the 1,000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 11:26.85 and continued her winning ways in the 500 Yard Free with a time of 5:34.79. Simmons closed the meet with a top spot in the 200 Yard Free Relay alongside fellow Bobcats Tate Abbott, Kandace Kennedy, and Guillermina Rentsch.
