BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae College Director of Cycling
Tim Hall announced the signing of Jonty Strydom for 2026. Strydom will join the Bobcat cycling program in January.
Strydom is from Pretoria, South Africa where he has placed in the top 10 at nationals for both Cross Country and Downhill disciplines.
"I chose to apply to Lees-McRae College, because it offers one of the best collegiate cycling programs in the country with a great environment for both cross-country and downhill racing," said Strydom. "As well as the combination of high level coaching helping me develop as a rider. And also being part of a supportive community which provides the perfect balance for me."
Strydom will study Business Marketing with a minor in Cycling studies at Lees-McRae.
