SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Lees-McRae men's soccer dropped a tough 1-0 decision to Converse on the road this evening with the Valkyries scoring the go-ahead goal in the 76th minute of the Conference Carolinas Northwest Division contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Converse maintained the advantage in shots, 16-6, and shots on goal, 10-1, in the match with the lone goal coming at the 76th minute mark of tonight's match.
- Jonathan Kienle stopped a season-high nine shots for the Bobcats in the match. Laurin Boettcher, Nils Schulze, Gray Smith, and Leon Vrban played the full 90 minutes for Lees-McRae on the pitch in addition to Kienle.
- Harrison Watts had the shot on goal for the Bobcat in the 43rd minute of the match, but Converse's Tim Baerwalde made the save in goal.
- Converse found the back of the net in the 76th minute off a goal from Johannes Haden via a Maximilian Seiwald assist.
FOR THE VALKYRIES:
- Haden scored the game-winning goal for the Valkyries and Seiwald added the assist.
- Baerwalde earned the shutout victory in goal for Converse with one save on the night.
UP NEXT:
The Bobcats return to Tate Field on Wednesday, October 11 as they will face Belmont Abbey for the second time this season. The match will be Pink Out (Breast Cancer Awareness) and NC Rush Mountains FC Appreciation Day.
