COLUMBIA, S.C. – Head Women's Basketball Coach
Quante Lee earned his first victory at the helm of the Lees-McRae women's basketball team on Saturday with the 64-63 decision at Allen.
Layla Tillery knocked in the go-ahead free throw with four seconds remaining in the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Tillery earned a trip to the charity stripe with 2.8 seconds left in the fourth quarter after the Bobcats were awarded the offensive rebound. Tillery sank the front end of the two shots and Allen's Kynew Barnwell missed a three-pointer at the final horn.
- Lees-McRae went 24-51 (47.1%) from the field with five threes. The Bobcats made 11-20 from the charity stripe and scored 23 points off 27 Allen turnovers.
- Aleysha Hill got the Bobcats on the board first with a layup at the 8:53 mark of the first quarter. Emily Barr made a layup with 3:49 remaining in the first as Lees-McRae led 12-2 in the early stages. The Bobcats took the opening quarter by a score of 19-13.
- Allen cut into the deficit as the Yellow Jackets took the lead at 22-21 and pushed their advantage to four points on a basket via Kasey Smith. The Bobcats bounced back with a 7-0 run to end the half at 28-25.
- Lees-McRae pushed their lead to seven points on a made free throw from Leah Barringer, but Allen closed the gap once again to three points at 45-42 after 30 minutes of play.
- Kirsten Watt recorded a made basket with 7:39 left in the contest as the Bobcats led 52-49. Allen regained the one-point margin at 54-53 and staked out a five-point edge at 60-55 with 4:16 to go in the fourth. Lees-McRae answered again with a 4-0 run and Sandra Mason gave the Bobcats the 64-63 lead off a layup with 41 seconds to go. Allen knotted the score at 63-63 on a free throw make and Tillery pushed the Bobcats back ahead at 64-63 after making one of two from the charity stripe.
- Mason led all Bobcats in the scoring column with 14 points, with three assists, three rebounds, and two steals. Barringer followed with 13 points and five rebounds. Barr joined her teammates in double-digit scoring with 12 points on an efficient 6-7 from the field.
- Hill collected six points in the win and Watt produced five points in eight minutes for Lees-McRae.
FOR THE YELLOW JACKETS:
- Tailah Wesley had a team-high 14 points for Allen and Kash Hankerson contributed 12 points, three rebounds, and three steals.
