GREENWOOD. Ind. – Jesper Jonsson and
Gray Smith represented Lees-McRae men's soccer on the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Team on Tuesday.
Jonsson, a junior midfielder from Huddinge, Sweden, recorded 16 starts in 17 matches played for the Bobcats this season. Jonsson tallied one goal and two assists for Lees-McRae and registered 1,175 minutes on the pitch. Jonsson is a Business Administration major who was named to the Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference Team Presented by Barnes & Noble College earlier this fall.
Smith, a junior defenseman from Pinehurst, North Carolina, earned CSC Academic All-District® NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Team honors for the second consecutive season after posting 17 starts for the Bobcats. Smith logged all 1,550 minutes for Lees-McRae on the backline and scored his seventh career goal for the Green and Gold in 2023.
