BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae women's volleyball recorded the four-set victory over Converse on Saturday afternoon on the McNair & Debi Tornow. The Bobcats honored five women's volleyball seniors this afternoon before the match with

Carmen Osinga, and
Lauren Xayavong.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sydney Stigler led the Bobcats on the day with 17 kills and added seven digs and one block. Patrycja Rykala matched her season high in kills today with 14 on a .273 hitting percentage and Nicole Osborne Rykala and Stigler in double-digit kills with 11. Osborne recorded her second collegiate double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs.
- Goins, a senior from Lowgap, North Carolina, dished out a match-high 47 assists and registered 12 digs in four sets. Xayavong tallied a match-high 22 digs for Lees-McRae to go along with four assists.
- Rebecca Ryan narrowly missed double figures in kills with nine kills on an efficient .400 hitting percentage and Holley added seven kills to her season totals. Adamson registered nine digs on her senior day and Osinga compiled four digs for the Bobcats.
- In the marathon first set, Converse and Lees-McRae went back-and-forth at 24-24, but the Valkyries were able to secure the set at 34-32 on a kill by Tia Gripado.
- The Bobcats bounced back in the second set with the 25-20 set victory. Stigler pushed the advantage for Lees-McRae to 17-11 on a kill and Rykala regained the four-point cushion for the Bobcats on a kill at 21-17. Osborne put a stamp on the set with a kill at 25-20.
- Lees-McRae jumped out to an early 6-2 lead off a ball handling error by Converse, but the Valkyries knotted the set score at 16 apiece via a service ace from Jasmine Hamilton. The Bobcats pushed the lead back to three points after a double block from Goins and Holley. Lees-McRae took the set at 25-21 after an attack error by the Valkyries.
- The fourth set went back-and-forth also with Converse able to grab the three-point margin at 14-12. Lees-McRae then gained the lead after a seven-point run off the serve of Osborne at 21-16. Ryan earned the set and match victory for the Bobcats at 25-21 with her ninth kill of the match.
- Lees-McRae had 58 total kills in the four sets with a .173 hitting percentage and Converse was held to .115 hitting percentage and 47 kills on Saturday.
FOR THE VALKYRIES:
- Evelyn Fitz and Gripado led Converse on the day with 10 kills apiece. Madison Gregory distributed 21 assists and Kaili Bell-Auld had 19 assists in the match.
